SURVIVOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT TERMS OF REFERENCE
Purpose: Oversee the project’s development and ensure it comes from an informed place of lived experience.
Advisory Committee Shall
- decide if Survivor is the term to be used for this group or if something different is more appropriate given it’s membership
- finalize the terms of reference and adhere to this
- use the Brave Space guidelines for interpersonal interactions
- provide guidance and, at times direction, on each of the four phases of the research steps:
- Service Provider Focus Groups
- Survivor and/or Survivor Led Service Provider, two hour, recorded, In-Depth Interview
- Survivor and/or Survivor Led Service Provider Co-created Portraits
- Pilot of Educational Materials to female-identified young persons most at risk for sex trafficking, their caregivers, and/or potential service providers.
- provide approval for the draft and final training products
Composition
- 7 members
- A diverse cross-representation of Sex Trafficked Survivors, who are representative of priority populations such as; those from/in care systems (child-welfare and/or youth justice), BIPOC, and 2si+LGBTQ communities.
- At least 3 members will be residents of Central East Region.
- At least 3 members will have exited; within the last five years Remuneration
$50/hr for four 2hr sessions per year for three years, plus 7 hours of material review in 2023 Most meetings will be virtual or can be attended in that manner. For any in-person meetings, 0.40/km for travel.
